We are living in a world that is transforming every day. In such an extraordinary era of technological and social revolution, it’s critical to ensure that we enable the participation of all without any biases or constraints. Digital Economy Foundation (DEF) is a step in this direction to do our bit. We bring together bright minds and deep expertise in diverse areas to act fast, learn fast, and thus cause a sustainable transformation at scale.
Digital Economy is the key driver of countries' innovation, competitiveness, and growth. At the same time, we need to invest capital, knowledge and build infrastructure that addresses the digital divide. We must consider the world a universal set of many communities with unique needs and challenges. One solution may not serve all and thus will remain a dream goal.

FOCUS AREAS
COVID-19 has demonstrated the critical importance of the digital economy. As each country will follow a different recovery path, one needs to ensure that the five components of the digital economy: digital infrastructure, digital platforms, digital entrepreneurship, digital financial services, and digital skills remain intact. One needs to follow the trends in emerging technologies and the impact/influence on the core components of the digital economy.

Digital Economy Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization. The organization helps eminent leaders and practitioners from the government, and corporations engage in discussions about emerging technologies' role in the global digital economy. The discussions are informal and do not represent the organizations that the volunteers belong to, but they are an excellent opportunity to engage, learn, and contribute to the larger ecosystem.
DEF is registered as a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. DEF is also recognized as a social sector startup by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
